7 English Khajuraho

This ancient culture has some questions for our time. Why these people have so much erotic art carved into rock?
What do these works represent? Were these people worshipers of sexual acts?

The temples are beautiful, incredibly artistically. On some places you can see the destruction by the Muslims in their rush against pictures.

What everybody thinks about this art is his own affair.
I feel that these allegations do not necessarily have to be seen as a worship of sexual acts. I rather think that this is a presentation of sexuality in a variety of shapes, as a symbol of our human existence in a world full of desires. The sexual acts carved in stone can be perceived as quite natural, depends on the point of view.
The temples show sexual acts on the lowest rung, above this there are divine figures. I suggest, that sexuality is presented as a first step towards illumination. Also it seems to me that it is a fundament on the way. In this idea sexual activity can be very similar to Yoga. Although the movements of the spine are quiet similar.
The art of sexual Tantra involves the idea of a god, so Yoga and Tantra can be very close in some points of view.

I also feel that these images have a different understanding of the pride of men. The presentations are open and full of joy. No envy or some other feeling is in there somewhere.
I think we can learn from the Chandellas much tolerance and love.
The birds fly over the temple and the whole city seems covered with an invisible veil. It seems as if the temple reflect only the environment and the birds are the ambassadors of the love which is still there in the form of the stones. The people are in Babylon!!!
